Okay so yesterday I was dead set on grabbing tickets for that Mexico vs Brazil friendly everyone’s buzzing about. Heard it was gonna be wild.
The Login Mess
First thing? Hit the official vendor site right when sales opened. Big mistake. Site just died. Blank screen. Refreshed like crazy, maybe 50 times? Finally got the login page up after, what felt like forever. Typed my email and password, hit enter… Boom. Error message. Tried again. Same damn error. Heart started racing, sweat beading up on my forehead. Panic mode? Almost.
Realized I might have used my old password. Dug through my notebook (yeah, I write stuff down, fight me!) for the right one. Typed that sucker in carefully, fingers shaking. Logged in! Phew. Small win.
The Seat Selection Rollercoaster
Saw the stadium map. All these colored blocks showing available sections. Quickly clicked on a mid-level spot near midfield – looked perfect. Added to cart…
Nope. “An error occurred.” Okay. Deep breath. Tried a different section, kinda towards the corner this time. Same stupid error! “Someone else bought it.” Started clicking ANYWHERE green showed up. Lower bowl? Gone. Upper deck? Clicked like mad.
Finally! Saw the cart icon light up. Yes! Got two tickets! Not the best seats, way up in the nosebleeds behind one goal, but who cares? Tickets! Hit “Proceed to Payment” so fast I almost punched the screen.
The Payment Nightmare
Filled in my card details. Name, number, expiration, CVV. Double-checked every digit. Hit “Pay Now.”
Loading spinner. Then… nothing. Page looked stuck. Checked my email. No confirmation. Checked my bank app. Pending charge! Oh man. Did it go through or not?
Refreshed the vendor page. ERROR 500. The whole site crashed. Started sweating again. My cart was empty. Did I have tickets or not?
- Opened email tab again. Still nothing.
- Rechecked bank app. Still that scary pending charge.
- Refreshed vendor site history. Blank order history. Panic rising.
Waited 15 minutes. Refreshed email. BOOM! Two order confirmations! Double charged! Oh come on! Saw two separate emails, two different order numbers. What a mess.
Immediately called customer service. Got music. Held for 45 minutes. Explained the whole damn mess to the agent, practically begged. He saw the double charge, saw the error logs. Said it happens when the site crashes. He canceled one order! Took another 10 minutes, but finally saw the one charge disappear from my bank app. Collapsed back in my chair. Wiped out.
Lesson? Brutal
Scored the tickets. But man, it was a warzone. The site got slammed, stuff failed left and right, payment process screwed us over. Ended up costing me an entire damn afternoon plus the stress headache to end all stress headaches. Next big match? Yeah… I might just watch from the pub.
