Pablo Maffeo best moments: Highlights from his top matches and goals.

Starting the Pablo Maffeo highlight project

Woke up last Tuesday itching to make a football compilation video after coffee. Decided on Pablo Maffeo ’cause that dude’s defending skills don’t get enough love online. First step was hunting down match footage like crazy.

Spent four freaking hours scrolling through match archives from Stuttgart, Mallorca and Girona games. YouTube auto-play kept trying to distract me with cooking videos – almost gave up when my laptop froze during download. Salvaged older clips from my external harddrive where I’d saved some La Liga matches last season.

The editing grind begins

Opened DaVinci Resolve thinking this would be simple. Wrong! Had to trim useless midfield passes from like 12 different games. Focused on three things:

  • Tackles so clean they should be in a detergent ad
  • Those explosive sprints to stop counters
  • Rare times he actually scored

Nearly smashed my keyboard when rendering crashed at 87% completion. Ate peanut butter toast while redoing the whole sequence. Added crowd noise snippets to cover up commentator gaps during the El Clasico scenes.

Last stretch madness

Color correction took forever ’cause stadium lighting differed in every league. Made his kit colors pop extra bright against muddy German winter pitches. Chose “Eye of the Tiger” remix for background music after testing seven tracks – wife yelled from bedroom when I played it loud at 2am.

Exported final cut just as sunrise hit my window. Uploaded to YouTube with shaky fingers then passed out on couch. Woke up to 92 notifications – seems people actually watch defensive highlights! Should’ve included that bicycle clearance against Bayern though…
