Alright so today’s mess was about getting those Espanyol vs Barcelona lineups faster than anyone else. Woke up thinking “today’s the day I crack this lineup waiting game”. Grabbed my coffee machine first thing – can’t do anything before caffeine hits.
My lineup hunting toolkit
Dusted off every gadget I own: laptop on the left, phone in my right hand, tablet propped up beside the toast I dropped when rushing. Setup looked like NASA mission control gone wrong. Refreshed like a madman across:
- That big football news website everyone uses
- Barca’s official app that crashes more than my old car
- Three different lineup alert Twitter accounts
- Some app that keeps spamming me with ads
The great refresh war
Hit refresh on the phone… nothing. Smashed F5 on laptop… still nada. Tablet showed last season’s lineup like some cruel joke. Started yelling at devices “SHOW ME THE PLAYERS ALREADY!” – scared my neighbor’s dog honestly. Thought my wifi died but nah, just lineup limbo.
Pro tip: When you start clicking so hard the mouse squeaks? That’s when you know you’re too deep. Almost gave up to make another coffee when…
The magical moment
Phone buzzed first! Grabbed it so fast I nearly threw it through the window. There it was – Ter Stegen in goal, Lewandowski up top. Scanned through defenders names super quick before my eyes could focus properly. Screamed “GOT IT!” to nobody in particular. Instantly checked other sources – yep all showing same eleven now.
Timed the whole circus: 37 minutes of frantic refreshing before official release. Worth every second though – got to gloat in group chats before anyone else. Now time to actually watch the game… after grabbing victory beers of course.
