Alright, so today I really wanted to catch the Celta de Vigo vs Barcelona match, but my WiFi decided to act up right before kickoff. Total nightmare. I grabbed my phone thinking maybe data would work better, but nope – that thing was buffering like crazy. Couldn’t even get the score update notifications properly.
Finally hauled myself to the café down the street. Their internet usually holds up. Ordered the cheapest coffee (still overpriced, ugh) and crowded into a corner booth with five other football fans. One dude kept shouting every two minutes – super annoying. Screen was tiny too, but at least the stream worked.
How I tracked the chaos
Started scribbling notes on a napkin ’cause my phone died. Barcelona looked sluggish early on. Terrible passing, almost gave up a goal in the 15th minute. Wrote down:
- 20th min: Still 0-0. Barca playing like they partied all night.
- 33rd min: FINALLY! Lewandowski scores. 0-1. Napkin’s half soaked in coffee now.
Second half got wild. Celta pressed hard around the 65th minute. Guy next to me spilled his beer when Aspas almost scored. My hands were shaking trying to write:
- 70th min: Celta hitting crossbar! Heart attack stuff.
- 85th min: Barcelona parked the bus. Stressful.
Ref blew the whistle at 0-1. Napkin looked like a toddler’s art project with all my messy handwriting and coffee stains. Took a photo anyway for “authenticity.”
Why I won’t do this again
Honestly? Never worth the hassle. Half the updates came through Twitter anyway after my phone charged. Cafés are too loud, WiFi sucks half the time, and paying $4 for burnt coffee to watch pixelated football? Nah. Next big match I’m just refreshing scores at home with takeout.
